this building
This is the apartment block I'd like to move in to if I were ever to pick up sticks and move to Vienna. A girl can dream! I think they're probably tiny little shoe boxes of apartments but I think I could live with that knowing I could sit out on those oh-so-fancy balconies and watch life go by on the streets below.

pucker up (happy weekend)

Happy weekend everyone. Hope you've all had a great week. A hot water pipe burst in the bathroom into my bedroom this week so I have had to move most of my furniture out of there and set up camp in the lounge room waiting for the carpet to dry. There wasn't any damage to my things fortunately, just some wet, smelly carpet! I'm very much looking forward to having my bedroom back soon.
I saw this artwork by Jason Brooks on Pinterest this week and it's now definitely on my wish list. I love the softness of the watercolours. These are some close ups of the original image. Maybe I could use the temporary move out of my bedroom as a chance to redecorate - starting with this artwork.

sculpture by the sea
We picked the perfect day to visit Sculpture by the Sea this past Saturday. Blue sky, sun shining and whales breaching off the coast. The Bondi to Tamarama walk is such a great place to have the annual sculpture exhibition - you can take in some art while getting in some exercise and breathing in some fresh sea air. And the bonus is it's free so it's accessible to everyone.
There were so many creative and inspiring sculptures this year and below are some of my favourites.

glasses + the colour run
Happy weekend everyone. While out and about in Sydney you might be lucky enough to pick up one the little Urban Walkabout pull-out suburb guides. They feature the lovely illustrations of Alexis De Bonis. I especially like this image from the Redfern guide as I just got my first pair of reading glasses this week so glasses are on my mind!
Have you registered for the Colour Run in Australia yet? I blogged about it earlier this year and was pretty bummed there were no plans to bring it to Australia. I'm happy to say that the cities are confirmed and dates are being announced. I've registered for the Sydney run and can't wait for next Feb. You can register here. (I think the organisers should have changed the spelling when the brought it to Australia as they've left the u out! Sorry, I'm a bit of a spelling nerd!)

pattern love + a blog make-under
I have finally given my blog a much needed makeover. Or should that be make-under? I really wasn't happy with the way this blog looked and it was making me not want to post regularly. So I have simplified things for the time being and when I get the skills to pimp ever so pink I will give it the full makeover treatment. But for now I'm pretty content with this new look. What do you think?
And now some pattern love to celebrate...
I am in love with these prints by Gary Andrew Clarke. Aren't they great? His Art Remixed series is especially awesome. I could definitely have a few of these hanging up on my wall.

paul thurlby alphabet and numbers
I really love these alphabet and number prints by Paul Thurlby. They'd look great in a kids room or study don't you think? You can also buy the book of his alphabet which would make a perfect gift for a little one (or alphabet loving adult!) The two flamingoes are obviously taking my fancy but the U for Underground is coming in a close second.

letterpress love
I have just spent a fair chunk of my evening swooning over the designs of Bespoke Letterpress Boutique. You can see the attention to detail they put into every piece they create and sell in their online shop. It's all stunning! I especially love the alphabet swing tags.

this cake takes the cake!
This cake... well it takes the cake doesn't it? I'm a massive fan of rainbow layer cakes but this Mondrian inspired cake takes it to another whole level. It's a-m-a-z-i-n-g!
